About BWS
Brevard Watercolor Society was established in 1995. It is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, sponsored in part by the Brevard Board of County Commissioners, through the Brevard Cultural Alliance, Inc. It has a current membership of almost 200 members. BWS (or The Society), its members and volunteers, are dedicated to promoting the beauty of watercolor painting and enriching the quality of life in our community through workshops, education, and exhibitions.
“Joining BWS over 10 years ago is one of the best things I’ve ever done. It’s so easy to make friends, GOOD friends, with people having the same passion for creating art. To me, the three opportunities BWS membership offers and has helped me grow as an artist are: interactive member demonstrations given monthly resulting in a wide variety of technique and viewpoints; watching nationally and internationally-known artists demonstrate at bi-monthly membership meetings; and the opportunity to show and sell your work (or just ‘test the waters’ for your future display) at our annual ‘Splash’ show.”

Membership
BWS Membership includes opportunities for learning through demonstration: interactive monthly mini workshops and discounted 3-day workshops; being part of our annual “Splash” show; attending plein air outings, art events and trips; and most importantly, enjoying the camaraderie and friendship of other artists. Also, you may now apply with our online Membership Application/Renewal Form.
General Meetings & Workshop Demos
BWS Meetings are held on the second Saturday of January, March, May, September, and November, and include Watercolor Demos by workshop instructors. First-time visitors are welcome to attend for $5 which, if becoming a member THAT day, will be deducted from the total membership fee.
3-Day Workshops
BWS presents four 3-Day Workshops per year featuring acclaimed artists covering a variety of themes and watercolor techniques. This is a great opportunity to acquire new ideas and techniques and to work one-on-one, and in a group setting with some world-class watercolorists.
Annual Splash of Watercolor Art Show
Our annual show, Splash of Watercolor, is billed as the largest display and sale of original watercolor paintings in Brevard County. It features paintings from our members, painting demonstrations, raffles, silent auctions and the Artist Marketplace. This show of both judged and non-judged art is always a sure bet to draw a crowd. Admission and parking are free.
