Plein Air

We meet every Tuesday 9:30 – 12:30 in the winter months and 9:00 – 12:00 in the summer.

All our welcome.     Photographers, sketchers, you do not have to be a member.

Outdoor painting is popular because it allows the artist direct observation and all the senses are stimulated.

It is fun to capture fleeting moments of daily life, passing clouds, the sounds of birds, and natures colors.

Brevard county offers many and varied locations: parks, beaches, historical and memorial sites, marinas, piers, villages, gardens, and churches.

Locations are sent out by Email.

Suggested items to bring:

  • Chair (Often there are covered benches)
  • Umbrella
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Repellant
  • Camera
  • Paper Towels
  • Paper clipped or taped to a hard surface
  • Paints
  • Water and Container
  • Refreshing drink
  • And a Smile

Locations are sent out by email.

All of the above is subject to change based on input from those interested in participating and on weather conditions (hard rain, heat). Those who wish to be notified of last minute cancellations must provide Jan Faerber or Rose Allen with phone number. The specific meeting place will be manned each date until 9:15am. Feel free to scatter from the meeting place to stake out your “spot”.
