Have you ever wanted to paint animals or birds that are soft and/or colorful? Well, here’s your chance! Susan Carden-Flicker (click for artist’s bio) will begin with suggestions on how to observe animal (wild or domestic) behaviors and notice different variations of bird plumage from young chicks to mature mating ages.
How one gets inspiration:
- Photos / Other artists’ artwork
- Magazines
- Internet
- Museums
- Library (Art books; animal/bird books)
- Walks on nature trails using Cameras with zoom capability
How to make your paintings your own version without copying:
- Reverse
- Closely cropped
- Different backgrounds
- Different colors
- Exaggeration
And, how to tell a story or emotion through their eyes.
