Art Escape at Highland Art Studio
BWS members now have a welcoming place to meet and make art together between regular meetings and workshops. Last year’s member survey showed that many members wanted a casual space to gather and create. Not everyone has a spot to paint at home, and it’s easier to chat when you share a love for art. The new BWS Art Escape Studio is designed for this purpose. It’s open on select Thursday afternoons for anyone who wants to join. Beginners are welcome—everyone starts somewhere! At the studio, you can:
- Work on your own painting (not just at your kitchen table) and request feedback if you want it
- Watch art demonstrations by members or DVDs and paint along
- Meet and take the time to make friends with other members
- Simply watch and learn
The studio is open Thursdays from 1:30 to 4:30 pm (with some exceptions, click here for schedule.) Wall space is available to display your paintings (without themes). At this time there are no fees to paint or display art, but this could change in the future. Space for painting is limited, so please call Barbara Rios (321-446-6154) to save your spot each week. If you just want to watch or socialize, it’s not necessary to call ahead. Please bring your own art supplies.
Note: The studio is closed every other month when the paintings on the walls are changed.
