This workshop will be a little different from what we usually do. We have put together two panels of talented artists who are going to share some of their knowledge of entering shows. It will be a question and answer seminar of “THE BUSINESS OF ENTERING ART SHOWS.”
This is a much asked for topic. We have a lot of new and veteran members who have not experienced formally entering an art show. Therese Ferguson will walk you through the business side of your artistic endeavors and give you the confidence to take on the shows.
There are so many factors to consider if you are at the point of entering shows. The morning panel will consist of two artists who have juried shows and competitions. They will share with you their thoughts on what they are looking for when judging. Everything from choosing the right paintings, reading and understanding the prospectus, along with how to choose the right painting to enter. Bring your lunch and drinks with you.
The afternoon panel will talk about cropping, photographing your work, framing, shipping, and creating a bio and artist statement, plus any other questions you have. We will be sending out a form for you to ask your questions and the moderator will ask the questions. At the end of the seminar, you will have a chance to ask other questions.
