They will share with you their thoughts on what they are looking for when judging. DESCRIPTION:WATERCOLOR BATIK ON RICE PAPER\n2-Day Workshop\n \nArtist:\nBarbara Brook \nDates:\nSunday\, March 10\, 2024 @ 9am-4pm\nMonday\, March 11\, 2024 @ 9am-4pm \nLocation:\nHester Wagner Community House \nDetails:\nLearn the basics of batik painting with returning artist and BWS Member\, Barbara Brook. The batik process involves repeatedly alternating layers of wax with watercolor paint. There is mystery and excitement involved as the painting progresses\, because it becomes increasingly difficult to see the colors and images as the wax builds up. Then\, like magic\, when the wax is removed a beautiful painting emerges. \nDuring this two day workshop we will transform a photo of the beautiful Iris into a batik painting and then paint Great White Egrets on day two. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or an advanced painter\, you will enjoy this unique process of layering paint and wax on textured rice paper. \nBarbara will be our demo guest at the General Meeting\, 1-3 pm\, Saturday\, March 9\, 2024\, Wickham Park Community Center. \nThe rice paper\, melting pots\, and wax will be supplied. DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Witha Lacuesta \nSubject:  Body in Motion – Drawing \nThis workshop will give you an overview and practice exercises to quickly sketch a body (human or otherwise anything) to later be developed into a painting. \nDo not expect to complete a painting with this workshop\, we will be learning a new skill! No need to draw anything ahead of time. \n \n\nPlan to bring: \n\nSharp pencil and sharpener\n12 inch ruler\nDrawing board suitable for the paper you bring\nLots of sketch paper\, a few quarter sheets or eighths of a watercolor paper\, 140lb or 90lb\nWater container\, paper towels\nBrushes and paints you are used to\, you just need a few colors\nPlease collect and bring as many photos from the sports pages or other sources that show people in motion; we can exchange and share images. Do not use a phone or table for reference.\nIf you have a bendable mannequin\, please bring it.\n\n\nIf you register and then need to cancel\, email bwspresident@outlook.com so we can notify someone on the waitlist. DESCRIPTION:It seems like many people would like to loosen up their style of watercolor painting. If you are one of these people\, Yupo paper provides that opportunity. \nJan will demo several techniques and give you photo subject matter to follow along with her. \nSupplies to bring: \n\nTable covering\nPalette of colors\nMixing tray or mixing dish\nBrushes\nSpray bottle\nMasking fluid\nLiquid soap\nPaper towels\nSponge\nContainer(s) for water\nSharpie pen (Waterproof)\n\nSupplied for you: \n\nYupo paper – if you have some\, bring it along to use for extra experiments\nBlow dryer\, but we will need more than one\n\nWe will be limited to 20 participants. If you sign up and then need to cancel\, email bwspresident@outlook.com so we can notify someone on the waitlist. There is no additional cost for mini workshops\, they are one of the benefits of membership in BWS. \n***Bring your lunch.*** \nCosts:\nCurrent BWS Members:  FREE\nNon-Member Guest: $5.00 (pay at the door) \nRegistration:\nDue to space limitations and teacher preference\, registration is limited to 20.
